 One of the most powerful gaming smartphone on this planet apart from ROG series and Black Shark series, is the Red Magic series. A totally gaming centric smartphone perfect from all angles encouraging E-sports gaming is the Nubia Red Magic series. So lets talk about the Nubia Red Magic 7S Pro. However, this is not going to be launched in India, so that's how it is. Let's get started.

1. OVERVIEW

 One of the most funky looking box in the industry contains the smartphone right upfront, a blacked out case, a 65 watt charging brick, a typeC - typeC cable, SIM card tool, documentations. That's it.

2. DESIGN/BUILD QUALITY

- First look- The smartphone looks just like a spaceship. I bet that no other smartphone in the industry looks like this one. This is just out of the world. The sides are made of glass while the central cutout is made of metal. A dedicated fan is given on the upper part to give enhanced cooling effect. However external cooling devices can also be attached, and a small camera module.

- Frame- They are made of metal having a trendy boxy design.

- Port and buttons- Right side has 2 trigger buttons at both the corners, speaker grills, volume buttons, and power button. 

The down side has a typeC port, speakers, and SIM tray. A dedicated red coloured button is given on the left side to start the Game mode. Upper side has 3.5 mm jack, noise cancelling microphone, speaker grill etc.

- Weight- It weight around 239 grams. The case is a bit loosely fitted.

3. DISPLAY

This gaming beast has a 6.8 inch FHD+ Amoled display having 120Hz refresh rate and an incredible Touch Sampling Rate(TSR) of 960Hz. It supports up to 600 nits of brightness and protected by Gorilla glass 5. The TSR of those trigger button are about 520Hz.

4. SPECIFICATION

- SOC- Absolutely top of the line specifications. This phone has the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8+GEN1 in it, which is a 4nm chip.

- Variants- This comes in 12/256GB and 18/512GB storage options. It has LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

5. BATTERY

This phone is outfitted with a massive 5000mAH dual cell battery that gives you hours of gaming

6. UI/OS

It has the Red Magic OS 5.5 which is based on Android 12. However the UI experience is not that smooth.

7. CAMERA

- Front- It has a 16MP(f/2.0) Under Display Camera. The implementations are decent and also the over all image quality is decent. However not up to the mark

considering the price point.

- Rear- Since it is a gaming phone so basically camera is not the main focus. At the rear it gets a triple camera setup having 64MP(F/1.79) primary sensor,

a 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP Macro sensor. All the outputs are very decent.

- Videography- This phone supports 8k at 30FPS and 4k at 60FPS video output. So well and good in terms of video capturing.

8. PERFORMANCE

Absolutely top of the line performance. Since it is a gaming phone the setting are tweeked in that way that you will surely enjoy it along with those trigger buttons. All the games available for a smartphone can be played at the highest settings. However a 144Hz screen was expected since it's a proper gaming phone. But to the surprise it get an additional chip which actually enhances the gaming experience. It is the Red Core 1 Dedicated Gaming chip.

- Dedicated fans- The provided fans work really well. Thy spin at 20,000 RPM and also gives RGB effect. A widget is pre-present in the home screen to start the fan. So the thermal management is fantastic.

9. CONNECTIVITY/SENSORS

This comes with all the connectivity options like 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, Dual m4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling and NFC. It has got all the sensors including in-display finger-print, and face unlock, and they all work efficiently.

11. CONCLUSION

Nubia this time also launched their product at a very competitive price. Look 7s Pro is gaming smartphone so we should not consider the camera here although this is first gaming smartphone launched with under display camera. In terms of performance no compromises has been done apart from the 120Hz display. So I think that This time Nubia must launch their smartphone in India so that ROG series can also get a tough competition. In terms of value this is a good one, and if it launches in India I can recommend this one.
