INFINIX NOTE 12 PRO

Infinix note 12 pro might be the first smartphone in India coming MediaTek Helio G99. It's a great chipset compared to it's successor MediaTek Helio G96 mainly because of the architecture which was 12nm in G96 and 6nm in current Helio G99. Of course Infinix brings one of the most value for money phones right now and might be the king in under 10k and under 20k budget segment, along with the queen Motorola. So let's get going.

1. OVERVIEW

The box contains the phone right upfront, a 33 watt charging brick which supports fast charging, USB typeA - typeC cable, a SIM card tool, a transparent case which is slightly hard, documentations and a X-Club dollar bill(INFINIX exclusive). That's all.

2. DESIGN/BUILD QUALITY

The back side of the smartphone is made of plastic. It gets a glossy finish around the round camera module and a matte finish at the rest of the area. A boxy frame is given, made of plastic. There are actually 4-5 led lights for torch at the rear which is quite impressive. It gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, the SIM tray has a dedicated SD card slot with a rubber gasket although IP certification is not there. So you can either expand your storage or use 2 SIM cards. Noise cancelling microphone is not present and weighs around 191.8 grams. It is protected by Gorilla glass 3 on the front display which comes with a pre-applied screen protector In total feels good in hand and also comfortable to hold.

3. DISPLAY

This phone comes with a 6.7 inch FHD+ Amoled display having 60Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. It comes with peak brightness of 1000 nits and 92% screen-to-body ratio, which is great. However the display looks quite dated since the selfie camera cut-out comes in a U-notch shape. Bezel are of average size on all 4 sides.

4. SPECIFICATIONS

It is the first phone coming with MediaTek Helio G99 which is a 6nm based processor and comes in only 1 variant of 8/256GB. It uses an LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

5. PERFORMANCE

The combination of the type of processor, RAM, ROM with which this device comes will let you play game titles like COD mobile, PUBG NEW STATE easily at medium settings giving you around 40 FPS output. However a 120Hz screen could have been given for better gaming experience. Talking about antutu score, it's about 3,80,000. This score is better enough when compared to Snapdragon 680 used in this price range. Additionally the storage variant also adds to the performance because you don't get any other phone with such specification at this price range. Really great to have it.

6. CAMERA

This phone comes with a primary lens of 108MP(f/1.75), 2MP depth and an AI lens. Under natural condition if the light is good then the primary lens clicks good quality photos. However at low light conditions, the photo quality degrades.

At front you feta 16MP(f/2.0) selfie sensor with a flash light. In
terms of videography the rear lens can shoot clips at 2k 30FPS while and the selfie camera shoots at 1080P 30 FPS which is good enough. The camera app is equipped with all the required features like Portrait, Night etc.

7. MULTIMEDIA/FEATURES

This device gives a great multimedia experience mainly because of the Amoled screen and stereo speakers at this budget. Talking about features it get camera to API support and Videvine L1 support.

8. BATTERY

This phone comes with a big 5000mAH battery bundles with 33 watt fast charging. Since the processor is very power efficient this phone will give a screen time of 1-1.5 day easily.

9. OS/UI

This phone comes with XOS 10.6, based on android 12 and security update of June comes out of the box. Since it is a budget phone, of course there are bloatares which can be deleted. One thing for sure, Infinix must improve their OS. I am not saying it's bad, actually it has really improved over a period of
time but when it comes to competition, Infinix stands a bit back in the line in terms of OS and UI experience.

10. CONNECTIVITY/SENSORS

In terms of connectivity it's good. It is equipped with Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. Talking about sensors, absolutely no problem, they have got all. Face unlock and Side-Mounted fingerprint works decently well.

11. PRICE/COLOURS AVAILABLE

PRICE- Introductory- Rs. 14,999  and  Original- Rs. 16,999
COLOURS AVAILABLE- Tuscany Blue, Volcanic Grey, Alpine White

12. CONCLUSION

If you want a phone for multimedia consumption and gaming this can be a great low budget mid-range smartphone. Yes, a 120Hz screen could have been given. Also the software experience of Infinixis not that great so if you can ignore these facts then this can be a good value for money package under 15k. That's all for this time. Thankyou.
