1. OVERVIEW

The box contains the phone itself, a snuggly fitting transparent TPU case, SIM ejector tool, a 22.5 watt charging brick, USB typeA - typeC charging cable, documentations etc.

2. DESIGN/BUILD QUALITY

The back comes in a leather textured design which is actually a plastic back. A glossy black finish is applied around the camera module. It weighs around 202 grams.

The vibrant yellow colour (POCO official colour) just looks outstanding. I would recommend don't use the case. People will see your phone at least once. The frames are made of plastic. So yes, good design and build quality.

3. PORTS AND BUTTONS

You get the power and Volume up/down buttons on the right side, SIM card slot having a dedicated SD card slot on the left side, 3.5mm jack and IR blaster on the top, speaker grills and typeC charging port at the bottom. So that's about it.

4. DISPLAY

A 6.58-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display is provided having 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz Touch Sampling rate. It gets a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

However, the presence of a water-drop notch makes the display quite dated. The size of the bezels is decent (similar to other phones coming at this price point).

5. SPECIFICATION

This phone comes with the all-new processor MediaTek Helio G99 which is a 6nm based 4G processor. This is much more power efficient that its predecessor, the Helio G96.

It comes in two variants, 4/64GB storage and 6/128GB storage. It uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage type. So quite decent specifications are offered this time.

6. PERFORMANCE

You can play games like CODM and APEX LEGENDS in medium to high setting and on average this phone will give you about 40FPS. Talking about AnTuTu score it is about 3,50,000 - 3,70,000.

If I compare it with Snapdragon 680 (common in phones of this budget) then this one is way better than SD680 chipset. No issues of thermal throttling were found on this device even after long hours of gaming. 

7. MULTIMEDIA

Talking about multimedia, this is a high-quality display in lower budget segment. Even the viewing angles are good which makes the display sharp and bright. You get a mono-audio set up in this device. It could have been stereo but it's ok. The 90Hz makes the video watching experience even greater. So yes, a perfect buget phone for content consumption. It gets Vide vine L1 support, so streaming is also possible.

8. FEATURES

It is IP52 rated so absolutely no problem in presence of minimal water droplets. Apart from that it gets FM radio, camera to API support etc.

9. CAMERA

This phone gets a triple camera setup. A 50MP(f/1.8) Samsung's JN1 sensor, 2MP Macro and 2MP depth sensors. However, there is no Ultra-wide sensor in this phone. At the front you get a 8MP(f/2.0) selfie sensor. Talking about videography, you get support of 1080p recording both front and back. In terms of features also all the standard ones, like the portrait, night, time lapse mode is present.

10. BATTERY

This phone comes with a big 5000mAH battery. Although the phone itself supports 18-watt fast charging but a 22.5-watt fast charger is given inside the box. Having such a power efficient processor a screen time of 1-1.5 days will be available for you.

11. CONNECTIVITY/SENSORS

In terms of connectivity you get Dual Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, Dual 4G VoLTE. In terms of sensors also nothing is missed out. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock both works very well.

13. CONCLUSION

Look in terms of value this is a great phone. Apart from that in the Flipkart Big Billion Day sale of 2022 addition Rs. 1,500 discounts will be given on this. In terms of display, performance, battery all is great considering the price point. Generally, the POCO M series are made for young generations and in that perspective also the design language of this phone is just awesome especially the yellow colour model is so vibrant. Yes, a great recommendation from my side.
